So it wasn't released this week, and I doubt that they would do a major update like Hard Mode on a weekend. (historically inaccurate)
So it must be next week, or Gaile will have severely missed the ETA.
On Monday, I'll post another topic, which will act as a meeting place for people who want to complete Hard Mode for the Guardian title.

Higher level mobs makes no sense.
If I remember what I remember (^.^) Level differences effect armor.
So if theres level 50 mobs they would 1hko anything even if weapon mastery was like 7.
most likely mobs wont be higher than 30, and shiro gets boosted to 32 (PLEASE,,,, I love you Shiro)

About a week ago, I wasn't interested in Hard Mode in the least (I'm still two bonuses away from Protector of Tyria - Ice Caves and Dunes). Suddenly I'm incredibly bored and can't wait for it.

I would love it if it was this hard. Really, I would.
Fire Islands are my favorite part of PvE Guild Wars. Its easy enough to kill one mob if you call right, but over aggro will kill you.
Please, please, please, please! Don't make it DoA hard. DoA was not fun. Trying to get a tank in the right position and then nuking the crap out of them without disrupting the aggro was annoying, and dumb.

"Mesmers will supposedly get their "PvE Buff" with the Hard Mode update. The buff will likely include an entire nerfing of the entire Domination attribute."
This is an unexpected surprise, where can I try and find where this was stated by devs/Gaile/whatnot? And why do you think it will entail a Domination nerf?

It was joke.
ANet has kept us a promise of buffing the Mesmer to make them more wanted in PvE, but so far all they have done is nerf it, and most of the nerfs were from the Domination attribute.
There is no and will never be a quote from the Devs/Gaile saying that.

actions speak louder than words in that area Puebert ^_^
I don't think they will nerf domination this time... I think they're gonna go for the few illusion skills that are left.

Perhaps Hard Mode just turns everyone into Mesmers, so that there's no excuse for not taking them
/sarcasm
Anyway Sarcasm aside, I'm not getting worked up over this after DoA and "Razah the Non Variable Hero" let downs

No wait! Are you joking!?!! They still have um, uhh, .... [skill=text]Overload[/skill] to nerf. Some people use it, I guess.
Haha, I bet Conjur Nightmare goes next.

I really hope they only allow Protectors into hard mode. Otherwise it will be very over-saturated with puggers who use builds that are not even suitable past Presearing area. Which is already the case in all the endgame areas of "normal" mode.
They should also allow 7 Heroes per team in hard mode.

Wishful thinking IMO.
But its going to be fun reading related threads when Hard Mode goes up.

Seriously, having protector or mapper has NO (!!!!!) relation to player skill or build quality whatsoever.
I know it because i know couple of KOaBD people who have ... no clue at all ...
People who echo rogdots invocation, people who play healing monk with heal other - heal other clone - heal party - heal area - heal area clone - divine healing - mantra of recall , and think they are awesome monks.
Really, forget pugs and forget titles people too, its filter that does not work.

Protector titles give a higher chance that they person has some clue.
It is not useless, just not definitive.

Actually, I think protector of a campaign does mean something. It may not mean elite skill, but it does show basic skill - it should be a pass grade for "experienced player". It shows that the guy has at least enough brains to listen to orders from the party leader, that he doesn't run wild drawing aggro and similar basics.

Depending on which protector it is;
Canthan = Pretty easy, even with henchmen.
Elona = Medium, Jennur's Horde can be annoying.
Tyria = Medium, requires some co-ordination, but rather easy with heroes. Dunes of Despair can be very annoying.

Heh, I know it's a joke, but strangely enough, I would not be surprised.
Or maybe we'll just wake up and find all our Mesmers deleted? Giving Mesmers PvE options by telling us to not waste our time?
Honestly, though, I've always enjoyed Hard Modes for any game. Something that leads up to parts of the game that are so friggin impossible that you can truly pat yourself on the back if you ever get it done and leave with an epic story to tell.

I'll quit GW if Protector is a req. Really. I've hated titles from the start - banning me from playing a game mode for not having one would just be too much.
I've completed 2 campaigns, but have no Protector title or interest in pursuing one - why should I have to go back and do a mission again to get it's bonus or complete it faster, just to play hard mode?
Hell it doesn't even make much sense to have *any* character based req (like ascension). I'm currently working through Proph with a new ele and finding it painfully easy, even with a half team of heroes. Hard mode sounds exactly what I need, but it also sounds like I won't get to play it, until I've practically finished. What's the point? I'd have more interest in playing through with a new class then and, of course, the same problem...
I think the OP mentioned this could be a make or break feature... sorry Anet, but I suspect for me, it's going to be the latter.

I, on the other hand, would be quite glad if Hard Mode had requirements to it. It would create a certain feeling of advancement through the game, which the game honestly needs. And ANet is following through with GWEN by setting it up to start at L20 as opposed to L1 again.
I also never really liked "free roam" games, either. I enjoy a certain structure involved in having to get through Level 1 before being able to get to Level 2. But that's just me.

I sincerely hope that the only requirement is being able to find the Options menu to turn hard-mode on. Other than that it is personal choice -- if you want to play it, then Dwayna's blessings on you. If you don't, then Dwayna's blessings on you. I might like to take my Tyrian born toon to NF and play through on hard-mode without ever having seen the quests, missions or spawn points before and to be required to have finished the campaign first would take away that enjoyment. How I choose to play with the toys that A-Net gives should be entirely my choice. Even if it's rolling a new toon and walking out of Presearing and straight into hard mode with an 8th level newly nerfed mesmer.
